This doesn’t have to happen to you. Protect your compactor equipment during the cold winter months. A few precautions now will save you grief in the future. Pay special attention to what is being disposed of during sub-zero temperatures. Limit wet waste when the thermometer falls below freezing for any extended period of time. Pay special attention to fluid levels. And please don’t pour hot water in a compactor unit in order to “thaw” the equipment. Allow extra time now to take care of details and your compactor will run better through the winter months.
