Oregon Service Manager
Location: Wilsonville, OR
Due to our continual growth, SWS Equipment is seeking a dedicated Service Manager to support our expanding teams and evolving needs. The Service Manager will lead and inform our customers while supervising the shop. This role requires a hands-on leader with a solid understanding of heavy equipment to manage daily operations in a manufacturing, production, and customer-focused environment. Responsibilities may take place both on-site and in the shop. The ideal candidate will quickly learn and retain product-specific information and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety. This individual will guide and mentor our technicians, plan and manage workloads, and create operational efficiencies.
Example of Duties:
- Assess and analyze individual projects and departmental budgets to optimize margins.
- Collaborate across divisions to develop or enhance standard service practices and operations.
- Maintain and enhance departmental procedures in conjunction with business management processes.
- Set and drive department goals and initiatives to improve key operational metrics.
- Communicate with senior leadership about shifting company priorities and projects.
- Coordinate with different teams to exchange ideas and participate in cross-team learning.
- Diagnose and repair customer-owned equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and maintainability.
- Promote and schedule service requests and fill parts orders as needed for all product lines.
- Lead by example, promoting team morale and adhering to company core values.
- Recommend and execute personnel actions, including new employee selection, promotions, training, and employee counseling.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Safety-conscious role demanding constant vigilance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships across all organizational levels, including co-workers, management, customers, and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computer literate for tasks like texting and document management.
- 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience; CMRP certification is a plus.
- Proven track record in developing effective work teams, with strong technical abilities and problem-solving skills applied to safety, quality, and process improvements.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics, with experience in DC electrical systems and multiplex systems.
- Hydraulic installation and repair experience, as well as PTO installation experience and welding experience.
- Valid Class B Interstate CDL and the ability to supply own hand tools consistent with a journeyman mechanic.
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit committed to identifying opportunities to establish multiple streams of revenue both within our core business and adjacent.
- Proven ability to effectively resolve problems or issues by using good judgment consistent with company standards, practices, policies, procedures, values, and applicable legal standards.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies.

Field Service Technician (Stationary & Mobile Equipment)
Location: Spokane, WA & Tacoma, WA
The Field Service Technician is responsible for system and component installations, repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance and retrofits to customers’ equipment or machinery. The Field Service and Install Technician serves our customers directly on location or in the shop. They work with our internal Service Dispatchers and Coordinators to give the customers the best experience possible. It is important this person has the ability to learn and retain product-specific information as it pertains to the position. As SWS is a refuse company, the candidate must be prepared to work on refuse equipment, including stationary equipment like balers and compactors and mobile equipment such as trash trucks, septic trucks, street sweepers, and other related machinery.
Example of Duties:
- Ensure Health & Safety is the top priority by adhering to all policies, processes, and safety protocols.
- Read & follow engineering (hydraulic and electrical) schematic drawings and technical specifications.
- Hydraulic troubleshooting, installation, and repair.
- Troubleshooting PLC and electrical control systems and installation and repair.
- Single and Three-phase AC electrical power troubleshooting and repair.
- In-depth understanding of component operation and adjustment.
- Prepare new equipment for delivery to customers.
- Provide customer guidance for improvement.
- Assemble, test, and service systems and components.
- Travel to job sites as needed.
- Manage workflow to ensure the company meets customer-required dates. Must be able to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and time-frames.
- Follow the process of paperwork requirements for billings, reports, and other documentation.
- Work in environmental conditions, including periods of extreme heat and cold.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Completion of formal apprenticeship, vocational training, or extensive on-the-job program preferred.
- Welding certificates desirable.
- Proficiency in operating maintenance tools and equipment required.
- Essential requirement for regular attendance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office proficiency is advantageous.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, fostering relationships at all levels.

We’re looking for a qualified staff accountant to help keep financials accurate and timely. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, will value accuracy, and have a passion for trouble shooting. The Staff Accountant will play an important support role, clarifying the financial outlook of our company and its clients with precise, proactive measures.
Example of Duties:
- Conduct mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors made by internal and external personnel
- Support monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of operational management accounts
- Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets
- Prepare special financial reports, when requested by senior managers, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
- 1-2 years of experience working in accounting
